Alonso será o sexto reforço do Atlético desde o período da pandemia que paralisou o futebol. O Galo é o time que mais contratou reforços no futebol brasileiro: os zagueiros Bueno e Alonso; os volantes Alan Franco e Léo Sena; e os atacante Marrony e Keno.
Para zaga, Sampaoli agora terá Igor Rabello, Gabriel, Réver, Junior Alonso e Bueno. O jovem Gustavo Henrique, da equipe de transição, também está treinando no profissional.
