Os gols do Galo foram marcados por Robinho no primeiro tempo e Rafael Moura no segundo. Lucca marcou os gols do time visitante.
No campeonato, o Atlético soma 2 pontos em 3 rodadas, ocupando a 15ª colocação, mas ainda pode ser ultrapassado na tabela.
Na próxima rodada o time enfrenta o Palmeiras, domingo, às 16h, em São Paulo.
Antes, o time recebe o Paraná Clube, na Arena Independência, pelo jogo de volta das oitavas de final da Copa do Brasil, na quarta-feira, às 21h45.

O Galo começou fulminante como de costume, mas esbarrava na boa marcação do time de Campinas. A primeira chance foi de Fred, que aproveitou cruzamento de Cazares e cabeceou para grande defesa de Aranha.
Com o controle do jogo, o Galo conseguiu furar a retranca da Ponte Preta aos 35 minutos. Em contra-ataque fatal, Cazares lançou Marcos Rocha e o lateral deu excelente passe para Robinho finalizar de primeira e abrir o placar no Horto: Galo 1 x 0
No segundo tempo o Atlético quase marcou o segundo gol logo no primeiro minuto. Em chute de fora da área, Cazares arriscou, mas Aranha fez grande defesa.
O banho de água fria para o Atlético veio logo depois e em 2 minutos. Lucca empatou a partida aos dois minutos e logo aos 4, o mesmo Lucca virou para a Ponte Preta.
O técnico Roger Machado mudou a equipe. Saíram Adílson e Cazares, para a entrada de Maicosuel e Rafael Moura.
Aos 14′ minutos, Maicosuel exigiu boa defesa de Aranha em chute de fora da área.
A equipe visitante voltou a levar perigo na finalização de Lins, para fora, e no chute e João Lucas, defendido por Victor. Em seguida, Fábio Santos cruzou, a bola pegou em Maicosuel e foi parar nas mãos do goleiro Aranha.
Robinho foi substituído por Otero aos 29 minutos. Aos 35, depois de cruzamento pela direita, Rafael Moura usou a cabeça para empatar o jogo: 2 a 2.
O Atlético pressionou, mas não conseguiu alcançar o gol da vitória. Aos 45, Victor fez grande defesa no chute de Nino Paraíba.
