“Acho que a federação deveria ter preservado os árbitros. Não posso fazer nada agora, é a regra, mas discordo. Ele (Igor Junio Benevenuto) não foi bem, mas tem melhorado. Torço para que façam uma boa arbitragem. O erro maior foi do bandeira e espero que eles estejam melhor nessa próxima partida, que tenham responsabilidade e façam uma boa arbitragem. Nos cabe acatar. Fiz o que tinha que fazer. Agora a responsabilidade é da federação”, comentou Salum, presidente do América.
O Atlético também não manifestou oposição quanto a arbitragem do clássico.
