O Galo também teve chances, Tomás Andrade foi o jogador mais participativo da equipe atleticana na primeira parte do clássico.
Já na etapa complementar, o Atlético voltou melhor e construiu boas oportunidades de abrir o placar. João Ricardo, o goleiro adversário, também apareceu e evitou várias chances de gols do Galo.
