Apesar do Atlético e do Corinthians não confirmarem a informação, a imprensa de São Paulo diz que o técnico Fábio Carille foi quem pediu o jogador.
Luan tem 250 jogos com a camisa do Atlético e 43 gols marcados. Um dos ídolos recentes do clube, o atacante conquistou a Copa Libertadores, a Copa do Brasil, a Recopa e dois Campeonatos Mineiros com o Galo.
