O vencedor do confronto entre os “ATLÉTICOS”, vai enfrentar o classificado do confronto entre Floresta-CE e Botafogo-PB.
Os confrontos da primeira fase serão definidos em apenas uma partida. O Atlético tem a vantagem do empate. Já na segunda fase, caso o Galo chegue, o empate levará a decisão para os pênaltis.
A partir da terceira fase, os duelos serão em partidas de ida e volta.
COMPETIÇÃO NOVA E MAIS RICA
A partir de 2018, não haverá gol qualificado em nenhuma das fases. Ou seja, os gols marcados na casa do adversário não valem mais como critério de desempate.
Outra mudança é no prazo de inscrições. O prazo deste ano foi o dia 24 de abril. Em 2018, as equipes poderão receber novos atletas até 30 de julho, antes das Quartas de Final.
PREMIAÇÃO
O campeão da Copa do Brasil 2018 receberá R$ 50 milhões, outros R$ 20 milhões ao vice-campeão, R$ 8 milhões aos clubes semifinalistas, além de R$ 4 milhões pela participação nas quartas de final, valores sem precedentes na América do Sul.
Para o Atlético, a Copa do Brasil poderá render, se for o campeão, cerca de R$ 68,7 milhões.
